The Kildare is a local restaurant that opened in 2013,  in the former Kildare Hotel in Wigton, The building had extensive renovation prior to opening, to create a modern relaxing interior suitable for dining, drinking or to hold private functions. Situated over two floors within a grade 1 listed building it is ideal for private dining, weddings, funeral teas or celebrations. We open during the day for coffee, alcoholic beverages and informal lunches and at night for dinner or just for a drink with friends.

The ground floor can seat up to 40 people comfortably. Upstairs the function room can seat a further 50 people. We have disabled access to the ground floor and a disabled toilet available.

We employ local staff and use only the best of local produce, including Richard Harrison of Wigton for our meat. All our food including stocks, sauces and desserts are made from scratch, ensuring we can maintain quality over profit at all times. We also make our own bread for the dinner service.

We can cater for special dietary requirements including coeliac and allergy sufferers we also welcome children at any time. We can also create special menus for your function if you have a specific dish you would like us to make.

Our food is fresh, local and varied, with a menu that changes frequently. We enjoy creating new dishes for our customers to try, and use their feedback to adapt and alter dishes. We make our own ice cream and vary the flavours frequently.

Our staff are well trained and selected for their ability to make customers feel welcome. We believe excellent friendly service is as important as quality food.

Once a month we hold theme nights producing authentic handmade dishes from different countries. These are very popular and usually held on a Saturday night.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
